If you are suffering from nausea or vomiting, IPSA can offer you a consultation with one of our doctors in a clean, quiet environment. We can offer you an immediate appointment at a time to suit you.
During your appointment, the doctor will go through your medical history to ascertain the cause of your diarrhoea or sickness. We will give you a full examination to rule out any serious causes for your symptoms.
If you need to be referred to hospital for further management, we will refer you to your local hospital’s medical or surgical team and arrange transport for you.
If your symptoms can be managed at the IPSA clinic, our doctors will discuss different methods of treatment for your symptoms, as well as diet and management at home.
If your symptoms are severe enough we may give you a Valoid injection, which contains the active ingredient cyclizine.
Cyclizine is an antihistamine mainly used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting after surgery or radiotherapy, or associated with middle ear disorders.
It is given by injection when you cannot take tablets due to profuse vomiting. The injection will work in approximately 15-20 minutes and can stop nausea and vomiting better than medication can.

We will also give you prescription strength anti-sickness and antacid medication to take home.
