Mesotherapy is an anti-ageing injection. This treatment has been used for many years worldwide. The procedure consists of multiple injections of hyaluronic acid, amino acids, highly concentrated vitamins, peptides, coenzymes, and antioxidants directly into your skin. This nourishing skin cocktail rejuvenates your skin, promoting both collagen and elastin production. Following treatment, our IPSA skin clinic clients commonly describe how their skin looks much more rested, feels firmer and is more radiant.
Mesotherapy can either be used as an alternative or as a supplement to many anti-ageing procedures such as Botox, peels, CO2 laser resurfacing, surgical facelifts and dermal fillers. While fillers and Botox work by improving your skin locally (only in the areas where the injections are given), mesotherapy improves your overall skin condition. It is important to note that mesotherapy is not a ‘wrinkle-filling’ injection. Mesotherapy is designed to rejuvenate your skin through increasing skin hydration and by stimulating your metabolism and your collagen production.
Mesotherapy/anti-ageing injections are mainly used to rejuvenate skin on your hands, face, neck and décolletage. The mesotherapy cocktail contains all of the essential components required for healthy skin cells, improving dull, dehydrated, tired-looking and lifeless skin while also minimising superficial wrinkles. All of the ingredients occur naturally in your skin, but as you age and as your skin becomes damaged, these naturally occurring substances slowly diminish.
Typically, superficial multiple injections are given with a very thin needle to deliver the mesotherapy (anti-ageing) treatment. For those sensitive areas, your IPSA skin specialist will use an anaesthetic cream prior to treatment so as to reduce any discomfort. The side effects of these injections are minimal bruising and some slight swelling.
