Obagi Blue

Obagi Blue Peel contains TCA (trichloracetic acid) as its active ingredient, combined with Obagi’s patented Blue Base. The depth of peel achieved by Obagi Blue Peel has a superficial to medium rating, and, based on your skin condition and your requirements, your IPSA skin specialist will determine what strength of peel is most appropriate. Both your skin’s texture and the look and feel of your skin is improved with Obagi Blue Peel.

Your IPSA skin clinic Obagi Blue Peel consultation

At your IPSA skin clinic, your IPSA physician will undertake a thorough skin analysis, as this treatment should only be carried out by a skilled physician and not by beauty therapists. Your IPSA physician will work with you to review your skin’s health/medical history. (Note: This peel is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.) Your skilled IPSA practitioner will also discuss a suitable home-care skin program with you that is designed to target your specific skin needs. A small patch test may also be undertaken.

What skin problems is Obagi Blue Peel used to treat?

Obagi Blue Peel significantly enhances skin tightness. It reduces wrinkles, fine lines, large pores, acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Obagi Blue Peel works for every colour of skin and every skin type and is also suitable for use on non-facial skin.

The Obagi Blue Peel System at your IPSA skin clinic

Your IPSA skin clinic carries a range of vitamin C-based Obagi products, such as Obagi Professional C-Serum and the Obagi-C Rx System. One Obagi product that is used in combination with Obagi Blue Peel is the Obagi Nuderm System, which is designed to enhance the effectiveness of your peel and to sustain younger-looking and healthier skin.

Your IPSA skin clinic’s Obagi Blue Peel program

You should start an Obagi skin-conditioning programme at least six weeks prior to having the Obagi Blue Peel. This ensures that your skin is both healthy enough to undertake the peel and that your results are optimised when you have the Blue Peel.

Immediately after you have undergone the peel-application procedure (lasting around twenty minutes), you will notice a bluish tint on your skin, and this usually washes off in around 24 hours.

After your Obagi Blue Peel procedure, you will experience a slight reddening of your skin (erythema); your skin will then peel within two to three days, and will then continue to peel for another few days after that. The average time for full healing is between seven and ten days.

When your skin has finished peeling, you will see an immediate improvement, and your skin’s appearance will also improve throughout the next four to six weeks.
